Hello adventurers and DM’s of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 7th boon we’re gonna be taking a look at in our epic level boons series. Today we’re gonna be taking a look at boon of invincibility 5e now this is kinda sorta a little bit game-breaking at least only slightly it depends on circumstances and i’ll get to that in a little bit. That being said it, you shouldn’t be too surprised from the mechanics. Let’s take a look at any case though.

Mechanics
When you take damage from any source, you can reduce that damage to 0. Once you use this boon, you can’t use it again until you finish a short rest.
Needless to say this is pretty awesome, pretty awesome. I think this is pretty broken at ridiculously high level campagins for example wizard launches a ninth level fireball at you. Whack negated no problem, basically legendary resistance trying to sort at least. Let’s get to my personal thoughts on it. In any case you can also check out epic boons 5e homebrew.
Thoughts
Personally i’d allow this if you changed short rest to long rest. Yeah either that or leave it short rest but make it so reads either magical or non magical damage source. Just making a little bit less good and we could get there. I already definitely give this as a reward for defeating a greater or lesser deity just a greater power.
May be through making a deal with one temporarily so you have this but it only last until the quest finishes i don’t know how i feel about leaving this as a permanent buff, you know or i might give it like a ring that has a limited amount of charges i might do that but outright i think this is a little bit too good for most campaigns. I thought very of these is just a big pain in the neck for the DM right! Also check out our other dnd 5e boons list.
