Now we look to new horizons on the cr1/8, in terms of experience points these will net you a whopping 25 experience points as opposed to the 10 experience that the cr0 gotcha we’re out of the bush leagues now boys and now we’re kind of still in the bush leagues.

But at least these ones have a little bit more interesting stats mechanics behind them, however this is sadly not a great example of that, right now we’re gonna be taking a look at the blood hawk dnd 5e which sounds super cool. Blood Hawk DnD 5E Stat Block

  • Type: Small beast, unaligned
  • Armor Class: 12
  • Hit Points: 7 (2d6)
  • Speed: 10 ft., fly 60 ft.

So even with a name like the blood hawk there’s still not a whole lot to break about here. It’s essentially just a better hawk. So blood hawk size considered to be a small beast that is unaligned. AC of 12 which is marginally better, 7 hit points which is actually substantially above the vast majority of cr0s. Calculated by rolling 2d6, speed of 10 feet but a 60 foot fly speed. You’ll notice quite a bit dexterous and more wisdom which is nice to have. However certainly not the smartest, strongest or most charismatic so do bear that in mind. Now taking a look at his skills he has access to +4 perception which is quite good and that loans itself to a passive perception score of 14 which is decent, certainly better than a lot of the cr0.   • Keen Sight: The hawk has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

So the blood hawk get access to keen sight which loans advantage on perception checks that rely on sight.

  • Pack Tactics: The hawk has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the hawk’s allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn’t incapacitated.

The blood hawk has the beak attack action. Plus four to hit which is great, reach of five feet, it can only target one target and deals whopping 4 damage, piercing damage to be more precise. Honestly i think the blood hawk would be a little bit more challenging for various party members who are scaling mountains for example. I think that’d be great, i’d have them kind of make a concentration check to maintain their climbing speed. dire wolf 5e.
