Visions of Distant Realms 5E Invocation

Hello warlocks of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 43rd episode of our what is eldritch invocations series. Today we’re taking a look at it confusingly named one in my opinion but i’ll get into that in a little bit later.

Today we’re going to be taking a look at dnd 5e visions of distant realms really sounds cooler than it is, don’t get me wrong it’s still super cool, i just feel like the name kind of overhyped it a little bit but in any case let’s take a look at the description and break this down a little bit early to understand it on a foundational level.

Table of Contents

Description

First and foremost there is a prerequisite that is you have to be a 15th level so there’s one of those top tier warlock invocations and yet that’s 15 levels of warlock by the way not any other class, multi-class involve on there 15 levels of warlock. And it reads as followed.

You can cast arcane eye at will, without expending a spell slot.

So fairly standard stuff! we’ve seen a lot of this. Let’s go to the overview and kind of explain in more detail what it actually does. Also read what is the voice of the chain master?

Overview

So it lets you create an invisible eye that has darkvision and look through it. You can move it 30 feet as an action and it can move through openings as small as 1 inch in diameter.

So pretty cool stuff there! The reason why i find this to be kind of confusingly named is the fact that it has to be on the same plane of existence as you. So you know i really don’t know why it’s called dnd visions of distant realms if it can only show you your own realm but whatever you know makes sense, the spell lasts for an hour and it is concentration, so you can only have one of these up and running at a time, it’s pretty cool though i really like it. For what it’s worth, you don’t have to be able to see the spot you’re casting it which is pretty cool! So if you’re like locked in a box for whatever reason, you can send it out, it also is tangible although it can’t be destroyed. So you could pump in the party members to get their attention stuff like that. Check out this what is the eldritch invocation tomb of levistus?

Since it’s invisible it doesn’t really need to roll to make a stealth check but i suppose you can find it floats too right so i supposedly could interact with objects up in the air or even just kind of touch party members. But in any case it’s pretty cool, i like it. This kind of negates the need for darkvision entirely which is pretty cool as well just have this kind of resting on your shoulder or what have you. Conclusion

That being said, thank you so much for checking out today guys. If you can think of any cool uses for it or interesting combos or anything of that nature oh you could totally use this to scry and fry i can’t believe i didn’t think of that beforehand, that is cool in that case, this is ridiculously good, this is super good.

Wow i didn’t even consider that until the just now, this will essentially let you fight people without being able to see them, which is super cool, depends on the spell on the range and all that jazz i get it. But still i take it back, this is probably one of the best invocations we’ve covered so far.

Wow that took a turn really quick. In any case guys, thank you so much for checking out this article, this has a ton of great combos that i’m looking at it like that. Please put your favorite combo down beneath, the best spell that you’d use scribe fry for this with. Thank you so much for checking out today guys, have a great day and as always happy casting.
