Lifedrinker 5E Invocation

Hello warlocks of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 25th episode of our what is an eldritch invocation? series. Today we’re going to be taking a look at one of the coolest named ones yet kind of a wasted opportunity if you ask me. In any case let’s take a look at lifedrinker dnd 5e. Such a cool name! Let’s get to the description so we know what we’re talking about.

Description

First and foremost there are two prerequisites for this and that is they have to be atleast 12th level and that is twelve levels of warlock, not twelve levels of total character levels so bear that in mind. And you have to have the pact of the blade feature. The description reads as followed. You can also read 5e what counts as an attack.

When you hit a creature with your pact weapon, the creature takes extra necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1).

So pretty good!i find it underwhelming compared to a lot of the other higher level invocations and i’m disappointed at the name. So if you want a homebrew like this i would recommend it. My problem with it is, it doesn’t do anything in regards to boosting your own health. Also read different races in d&d and 5th dnd classes.

So i would word it, so every time you hit a creature they’re packed up on your game Temp hit points equal to your charisma modifier divided by two ronded up something like that. I think that’d be a fair compromise for it and in any case let’s take a look at the overview really quick. Also read what is the devil’s sight spell?

Overview

Your pact weapon now deals your charisma modifier in necrotic damage.

Which isn’t inherently bad like a like any warlock 5e worth their salt by 12th levels should have plus three or four to charisma so i mean you get a plus three to your attack and damage and they get another plus three to your attack through this and it’s a flat damage and warlocks is really good and this is kind of just one more thing that adds insult to injury on it. However you can also check out our lifedrinker dnd 5e spells just in case you missed them.

You can buy that like hexblade purse and a bunch of other stuff and then even then you’re really talking big damage. That being said, that’s what good, that’s gonna be bought it for this article i really like this, i just would homebrew it a little bit differently. Conclusion

That being said, if you have any ideas on how to make this a little more enticing i guess or if you find out overpowered on its own please let me know why i like i’m just curious. In any case you can also check out this bard 5e ideas.

That being said, if you also have any cool stories, combinations ideas or anything like that please put it down in the comments beneath, i really enjoy reading them, i really like talking with you guys and i’ll usually respond as soon as i can. That being said, have a great day and as always happy casting.
