Today we’re going to be taking a look at the 11th maneuver available to the battle master 5e subclass today we’re going to take a look at dnd precision attack which is particularly useful when there’s a lot riding on you making an accurate strike and making contact with the enemy.
That being said, with that hyped up intro out of the way let’s take a look at the description so we all get the gist of how this maneuver works and what is precision attack 5e? etc. It written as followed.

Description
When you make a weapon attack roll against a creature, you can expend one superiority die to add it to the roll. You can use this maneuver before or after making the attack roll, but before any effects of the attack are applied.
Very interesting stuff! For the most part pretty cool! let’s take a look at the overview and kind of break this down a little bit further and i’ll give you my thoughts on it as well.
Overview
It essentially breaks down….before or after making an attack roll. You can expend a superiority dice 5e. Add your roll to the attack roll.
So this doesn’t affect damage at all it affects your odds to hit and it certain circumstances this is pretty phenomenal. You can potentially turn amiss into a hit and that’s incredibly and valuable if you got a lot riding on that strike. It also doesn’t burn up your bonus action or reaction so this would be a great choice if you’re a paladin and you really need to do a just don’t nova essentially.
Same with you if you’re a rogue there we go is to be really great for you as well. Just because of how sneak attack works. It’s also worth noting that sadly this does not affect the damage output. I would probably homebrew it so wood but as written it does not which is quite sad in my opinion. And for that it’s not really conducive to a high damaging build. You may like to read all the relevant precision attack dnd 5e spells.
But you know seeing as though you get 9 in these choices, i would probably include this in those 9 the pure utility of it. It’s kind of a little bit upsetting but that it can only be used against a creature, it can’t be used against an object or anything like that. Keep reading trip attack 5e.
But you know if you kind of metagame it a little bit, you can get aware of the targets AC and gauge how close you are, then you’re in a pretty good spot. Also check out this feinting attack 5e.
