Hello warlocks of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 20th episode of our eldritch invocations series. Today we’re going to be taking a look at gift of the depths 5e this is absolutely perfect for those marine-based campaigns where there’s ships, pirate stuff of that nature. That’s put you in a great position there.
Alternatively if you’re on an island i would really highly recommend this anywhere there is water is what i’m getting that. Outside of that it’s really good for those characters who like exploring, this is a great way of kind of complementing that. That being said, with that intro out of the way let’s take a look at the description so we know what we’re talking about. You can also read this maddening hex 5e.
Description
First and foremost it’s gonna be worth noting that there is a prerequisite and that is you have to be at least 5th level, that means five levels of warlock 5e, not total character levels so just bear that in mind and the description reads as followed.
You can breathe underwater, and you gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed. You can also cast water breathing once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.
Really cool stuff! You can really easily see how in a marine based campaign this is a just perfect. Regardless of grace right! In any case let’s take a look at the overview and break this down just a little bit. Also read dnd gift of the depths spells.
Overview
You can breath and move underwater as you would on land. And you can give up to 10 visible creatures within 30 feet the ability to breath underwater as well.
So really cool stuff! I’m really imagining like a group of pirates your party as a group of pirates i should specify. Where they hop off their ship and instead of taking dinghies and rafts whenever they just swim to the enemy pirate ship and stealth aboard. Als read what are the prerequisites for agonizing blast?
I think that’d be crazy good stuff! It would also be great for you to use against your characters if you’re a DM. For example let’s say they’re going through a swomp or a marsh going over a bridge even. You could have a ton of creatures underneath with a warlock leading them. Also read gift of the dragon feat 5e.
And i just all jump out at once an attack the party. I think that would be really cool! That being said you know, whether or not i’d pick this in any of my characters in my current campaigns. I want to say no probably not and this is not a lot of places to really use it my current ones. Also read what is the devil’s sight spell?
Conclusion
In any case i hope, yeah if you do if you’ve any ideas on how to use gift of the depths dnd properly or more effectively or any combinations please let me know down in the comments and there’s really curious. Those ones to be any cool stories about this one. In any case guys, i hope you all have a great day and as always happy casting.
