Which ones do you want, which ones will you take. In any case before you make your final decision last but certainly not least we have trip attack 5e.
Now this is perfect for a variety of reasons and honestly i highly consider taking a look at it, this is one of my personal favorites. Description
When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to knock the target down. You add the superiority die to the attack’s damage roll, and if the target is Large or smaller, 5e trip attack must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you knock the target prone.
Needless to point out that, that’s incredibly useful not just for damage potential but also for kind of turning the flow of battle. That being said, let’s take a look at the overview and break this down a little bit further. It essentially reads as followed.
Overview
When you hit expend a superiority dice 5e, add the roll to your damage, on a failed strength save a larger or smaller creature is knocked prone.
Pretty interesting and pretty simple enough itself. If you’re unfamiliar with the prone condition i’ll kind of give you the coles notes.
A creature is only movement option is not to crawl. That’s true also if it can fly. All it can do is crawl if it’s not prone and that’s it and that’s essentially half movements. The creature has disadvantage of attack rolls, an attack roll against the creature has advantage if the attacker is within 5 feet. So it’s really good for melee attackers and odds are you know this is incredibly useful if you are one it gets you advantage on the rest of your attacks. The creature can also break the condition by standing up which takes half of his total movement as well. Really interesting stuff there, this is also super useful if you are an archer. Notice it doesn’t say that it has to be a melee weapon attack just as a weapon attack. Also check out does trip attack work on flying creatures?
So you could essentially be a fair distance away and on your a final attack, you could use this and knock the target prone in when it’s surrounded by your melee companions, hence giving them advantage on all of their immediate attacks afterwards. It also really helps you escape from situations where being chased down, i don’t have the HP or maybe you’re just a squish your character or may be you’re have some form of encumbrances preventing from moving very quickly. This is a great way to slow them down.
