Hello battle master maneuvers of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the fifth combat maneuver on our website today we’re going to be taking a look at dnd 5e feinting attack the ultimate bluff ladies and gentlemen. Also check out our other 5e battlemaster maneuvers.
Usable by the battle master 5e class if you haven’t gathered as much already, now this is a really cool one once again. Mostly because it can be role played to no end and for that i really like it. With that hyped intro out of the way let’s take a look at the full description here so we can get to know how does feinting attack work?. It written as followed. You can also read this precision attack 5e.
Table of Contents
Pretty cool stuff! Let’s take a look at the overview and break that down a little bit further. In any case you may also like to read the difference between feinting attack vs precision attack.
Essentially what it breaks down to is expend a superiority dice 5e, and a bonus action to feint out a creature within 5 feet of you. You have advantage on your next attck roll against that creature this turn. Should the attack hit, add the superiority die feinting attack maneuver 5e roll to your damage. Also check out menacing attack 5e.
Oh man! Roll play i really like this, i think is alike and deal with it. Mechanically i find it to be a little bit underwhelming. Mostly because it uses your bonus action. My problem with that is there’s a lot of classes out there. Where if you multiclass or pick as up as the maneuver feat you’re not gonna be able to do very much. Also read this what is the precision maneuver?
So this kind of kills multi classing in a lot of ways which i’m not a huge fan of but if you’re a strictly battle master class and you really need to hit something, this is one of the better ways to do it. In all honesty whether or not you pick this will depend heavily on your playstyle and the kind of encounters or DM’s running. If you’re going up against a lot of high AC targets and if you’re constantly within melee range i think this one make a lot of sense to at least have in your arsenal. Also check out can you sneak attack with unarmed strike 5e. and what is the bait and switch maneuver in 5e
That being said, i find it to be mechanically a little underwhelming but i mean i might be wrong, if you have any ideas on how to use feinting attack 5e more effectively, any cool stories, any comments, concerns or questions please take it down to the comments below.
