Hello spellcasters of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 13th episode of our find familiar options series. Today we’re going to be taking a look at the sea horse dnd 5e it is as cool as it sounds in my opinion i think this is one of the worst familiars.
I literally can not think of a single reason you wanna take this of top of my head, i don’t know it might work with your character in some weird way although like i couldn’t really imagine there’d be better familiar is to pick from. In any case it doesn’t matter let’s take a look at its stats and kind of decide for what’s going on here. You may also like to read sending stones 5e.
Seahorse DnD 5E Stats
- Sea Horse: Tiny beast, unaligned
- Armor Class: 11; Hit Points: 1 (1d4 – 1); Speed: 0 ft., swim 20 ft.
- STR: 1 (-5)
- DEX: 12 (+1)
- CON: 8 (-1)
- INT: 1 (-5)
- WIS: 10 (+0)
- CHA: 2 (-4)
- Senses: Passive Perception 10
- Languages —
- Challenge: 0 (10 XP)
- Water Breathing: The sea horse can breathe only underwater.
So it has an armor class of 11 which is under lower end of the average. Hit point of one so not really great there! and swim speed at 20 feet. So not super great in any regard, even if you look at its actual stats the only redeemable thing has dexterity and technically wisdom and even none has only +1 to dexterity. You can also read sea elf 5e and sending 5e.
There’s a passive perception of 10 which is one of the lowest ones in the game and it’s only other ability is water breathing and it only lets you breathe underwater so i don’t know, i can’t really imagine why you’d wanna take this. There between the quipper and the octopus 5e so many good water ones already i just see the benefits. But you might have seen something i don’t. Also check out this sentinel 5e and seahorse dnd 5e race.
Conclusion
That being said, if you have any ideas, and how the best use this seahorse or if you’re gonna pick it or if you’ve any cool stories or thoughts about it i really like to hear about it down beneath in the comment section. That being said guys, thank you so much for checking out today and i really do appreciate it. I hope you all have a great day and as always happy casting.
