Hello magic practitioners of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 11th episode of our cantrip series. May i introduce to you the one, the only fire bolt spell dnd 5e. It is usable by the sorcerer and wizard and of course through extension anyone else access to their spellsheet and it is found in the classic players handbook. Let’s get into couple quick mechanics here.

So to start out your damage is a d10 so pretty decent there. Starting out with one and getting one additional at level 5th, 11th and 17th level. For a grand total of 4d10 at your higher levels there. The cast time is 1 action and the range is 120 feet, the duration is instantaneous, The saving throw is just be the target AC. You can also read what are all the playable races in d&d.
The components are somatic and verbal meaning you have to gesture as well as vocalize inplantation. The school is unsurprisingly evocation. And even less surprisingly the damage type is of course fire. Now let’s take a quick look at the actual description. Don’t miss out our article on fireball 5e.
Description
You hurl a mote of fire at a creature or object within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 fire damage. A flammable object hit by this spell ignites if it isn’t being worn or carried. This spell’s damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 5th level (2d10), 11th level (3d10), and 17th level (4d10).
Alright now lets take a look at couple things there. So there is one thing in particular that i really like about this spell and that is it can target a creature or object with it. This is in my opinion pretty nice to have. Also read 5th dnd classes
Its cast time is actually great to have in of itself. Because the couple spells would actually object component there an acid splash. So that’s pretty nice actually. Let’s get into some alternative uses here.
Alternative Uses
To be honest i really come up with too creative. Just because it’s fire and its duration is instantaneous and its damage is like fire. Who knows though one hundred and twenty feet. You can also check out fire elemental 5e | is bane a good spell 5e | 5e starting gold level 5.
