Hello adventurers and dungeon masters of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 18th boon in our epic boon series. Today we’re going to be taking a look at boon of speed 5e whic is kind of interesting because it’s the opposite of a lot of the other boons and the way that this one the name it doesn’t sound very good but in terms of its mechanics it’s actually probably one of the best, so only the top three strongest by raw at least in a general sense so with that out of the way let’s take a look at its mechanics, so it kind of flesh out exactly what i’m talking about.

Mechanics
Your walking speed increases by 30 feet. In addition, you can use a bonus action to take the Dash or Disengage action. Once you do so, you can’t do so again until you finish a short rest.
So to be fair, the ability to dash or disengage as a bonus action once per short rest. Not necessarily the best but the walk speed increase of 30 feet is huge for for some characters. That being said, let me kind of share with you my personal thoughts on this. You can also check out all other dnd 5e boons list.
Thoughts
I really like this and i would probably allow it most of my games. In terms of how i’d give it to a person probably through defeating a big bad or temporary blessing from a god or deity. Mechanically i like the way it works in terms of the speed increase, i think that’s incredibly good, overwhelmingly good. Also check out boon of invincibility.
Movement based anything is very strongly 5e especially with the ability to take a disengage action as a bonus action or even the dash. With this you get an additional 30 feet tacked on to your general walking speed. So let’s assume 60 feet and if memory serves the way it works as dash as double let’s you take your full walk speed again.
So that’s 120 feet as a bonus action then add another 60 off to that as an action so a total of 180 feet. Which is super good stuff. Man i just really like it, in all honesty i could really see this in one of my games, i think it’d be awesome. Don’t miss this minor boons 5e.
