Hello warlocks of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 36th episode of our eldritch invocations series where we go through all the warlock invocations and kind of i’d literally explain them.
Today we’re looking at one of the cooler ones, we’re looking at sculptor of flesh dnd this sounds so cool! My goodness, in any case let’s take a look at the description so we know what we’re talking about. In any case you can also read this eldritch mind 5e.
Description
So first and foremost there is a prerequisite and that is you have to be at least 7th level, that has 7 levels of warlock not seven total character levels. And the description reads as followed.
You can cast polymorph once using a warlock spell slot. You can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
So pretty good, i wish that read short rest but whatever i know why they did it that way. In any case let’s take a look at the overview and just flush this out a little bit more.
Overview
So essentially Transform a creature into another, if the target is unwilling they must make a wis save and that’s up against your spell save dc right! The new forms CR must be equal to or less than the targets level, and they assume the creatures stats and that includes health points by the way. The spell ends prematurely when the targets new HP is reduced to zero, additional damage is carries over to the targets real HP and naturally can potentially kill them.
There’s a lot more to it, but that’s kind of a gist of it i’ll leave the full description in polymorph 5e here so you can pick through there and see what’s going on.
So the obvious way to use is just use it on any enemy, but you can also use it on yourself or on a fellow party member. The range is 60 feet, that’s pretty decent. The duration is one hour and it is concentration. So i mean you know i really do like this one, i’d probably end up picking it in all honesty, i just think it looks like works really cool.
It’s kind of a bummer takes a warlocks spell slot but that being said, i mean you know it’s such a great spell it’s hard to pass up. Also read this ghostly gaze 5e.
