When you hit a creature with eldritch blast, you can push the creature up to 10 feet away from you in a straight line.

Pretty cool stuff there! Now there is a little wording caveat to this, that is a point of debate. In any case let’s take a look at the overview and kind of break this down a little bit more. You can also read does repelling blast cause damage?

Overview

So this is the debatable part first and foremost. Once per turn part, so the description doesn’t actually say once per turn but it’s implied. So once per turn you can use your eldritch blast to push a creature up to 10 feet away.

There are those that argue that you can do with each individual eldritch blast ultimately it’s a DM call i don’t allow it my games because and just i make this look in the so they can push the target out like 40 feet which most movement speeds 30 so doesn’t make much sense to me. S i rule that it’s only one i’m fairly sure the sage advice rules the same as me. You may also interested in repelling blast dnd 5e spells.

But by raw you can technically do it more than once. So just ask your DM about see what they think. I do think this is incredibly useful it’s a great way to get a person out of another character space without necessarily provoking an attack of opportunity which is really nice, really nice because its forced movement right.

Something i would like to point as well as it specifies up to ten feet meaning it can be five or ten feet so if you have a trap set up you can push them right into that trap which is really nice. Yeah that’ll be about it for repelling blast, i really like this one. I think it works with a lot of good builds. Also check out repelling blast upwards.

Conclusion

That being said, if you have any crazy cool ideas for eldritch blast and how to use it, any cool stories or any combo ideas please put it down in the comment section beneath, i really enjoy reading them and interacting with you guys. That being said, i hope you all have a great day and as always happy casting.
