Description
When you cast a spell that has a duration of 1 minute or longer, you can spend 1 sorcery point to double its duration, to a maximum duration of 24 hours.
Really cool stuff! There was a point in time where this worked really well with healing spirit. However these days i get the impression it’s most commonly used for any spells regarding charming or situational effects like false life or maybe even fog cloud that being said, however this one’s really gonna lend itself to your creativity.
I do find it provides more usage in terms of utility spells however there’s a couple alteration spells that really benefit from an extended duration as well. And it would really help you save a couple spell slots in the process. So for the most part i’d consider it worth it. That being said, let’s get to my personal thoughts on it. Thoughts
Personally i’m a relatively big fan of dnd 5e extended spell list i don’t really see it all that often on any of the sorcerers i play with. That being said, i represent a coffee lock most of the time and i find extended spell to be relatively useful. Especially when you combine it with something like rope trick removes you from combat for two hours, instead of one and if you cast some rather interesting spells while you’re inside of rope trick, restoring your spell slots more than once is pretty beneficial. Actually Instead, the Extend Spell feat’s description says, “An extended spell lasts twice as long as normal,” but “a duration of concentration, instantaneous, or permanent is not affected.” And can you extend spell duration 5e? yes of course we can extend.
