Wristpocket 5E Spell

Hello magic casters of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 78th episode of our second level spell series. Today we’re gonna be taking a look at a very special spell in the way that there’s a lot of controversy surrounding it. It’s one of the dunamancy spells which there’s a lot of controversy surrounding a lot of them. But this is a unique one and i’ll explain why that is in a little bit here.

Today we’re looking at wristpocket spell 5e it is usable by the chronurgy wizard and the graviturgy wizard and it is found in the explorer’s guide to wildemount. Now let’s take a quick look at its mechanics, so we can understand how the spell operates. You may also like to check out dnd 5e spells.

Mechanics

  • Level: 2nd
  • Casting Time: 1 Action (Ritual)
  • Range/Area: Self
  • Components: S
  • Duration: 1 Hour (Concentration)
  • School: Conjuration
  • Attack/Save: None
  • Damage/Effect: Dunamancy

The effect at a glance is as followed: Cause a small object in your hand to disappear to an extradimensional space. You can summon and return it as an action. Interesting concept right!

The cast time is one action and it can be ritual cast for an additional 10 minutes. The range is self, the duration is one hour and it is a concentration. The components are somatic and the school is conjuration. Also check out this what is the wizard hand spell?

So i have a couple gripes with this and i’m upon further research i feel like my grapes are kind of more validated. So it looks like when the spell first came out it was actually meant to be a cantrip but based on the fact that it deals with basically creating a pocket dimension it was kind of scaled up to second level for some reason(Also read 5e pocket dimension spell). Also check out this what is the mage hand used for?.

I think second levels a little bit excessive especially since it’s a concentration spell like i would like to either have the concentration knocked out or make it a first level spell. I think that’s a pretty compromise but i don’t know let me know what you think down beneath. Now let’s take a look at the full description here to better understand exactly what this spell is. Also check out this is bane a good spell 5e.

Description

You flick your wrist, causing one object in your hand to vanish. The object, which only you can be holding and can weigh no more than 5 pounds, is transported to an extradimensional space, where it remains for the duration. Until the spell ends, you can use your action to summon the object to your free hand, and you can use your action to return the object to the extradimensional space. An object still in the pocket plane when the spell ends appears in your space, at your feet.

Very interesting stuff! I really do like how this plays out thematically. I think this is a great spell to give to NPCs in the particular, i just could see them having a lot of cool fun with it. Especially if they were part of something like thieves guild i could really see a lot of kind of young mage ling’s playing with this a lot. That’d be some pretty cool stuff! In any case let’s take a quick look at some alternative uses here and figure out some more creative ways of using this. Do you know what is a ritual spell 5e.

Alternative Uses

So i think a kind of obvious way of using it is using it to steal valuable items. I think this is the way 99% of players are gonna use it. But if you want to kind of upgrade your creativity i would use it for potions. Health potions are about the five pound weight probably a little bit less than you can certainly hold them as well i think they would be ideal for this spell. Also read is divine smite a spell 5e.

Especially if you’re worried about breaking them or potentially losing them. If your DM is used to using like kind of gritty realistic elements then this is a good way to use it. Keep reading sleep spell 5e explained.

Another great way of using this spell is you need to smuggle in weapons or out weapons vice versa. This is particularly useful if you’re going into like a high valley guarded area or if you have to assassinate a key public figure and you want to be able to get rid of the murder weapon it relatively easily. Conclusion

In any case if you can come up with any alternative uses, thoughts, questions, ideas, concerns or stories please put them down beneath in the comment section i really do appreciate it. That being said, i hope you all have a wonderful day and as always happy casting everyone. Keep reading: wizard spells 5e | pulse wave 5e | immovable object 5e |
