Fox DnD 5E Monster

Hello zoologists of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 82nd episode of our beast series. Today here is another cr0 for you guys and today we’re talking about the fox dnd 5e stats which actually it has some cool kind of flavor text attached to it…i’ll get into that at the end. We’ll do everything in order first.

It is found an ice windale rim of the rime of the frost maiden which from what i understand is a really good adventure i’ve had friends who have started playing it. I don’t think anyone’s finished it yet. I’ll check at a future date but it seems really good so far.

In any case it’s cr0 regrettably whatever why can’t they make it cr1 i don’t know. I’m being nuisance anyways let’s move on to its stats here.

Fox DnD 5E Monster Stat Block

  • Type: Tiny beast, unaligned
  • Armor Class: 13
  • Hit Points: 2 (1d4)
  • Speed: 30 ft., burrow 5 ft.

So it is considered to be a tiny beast that is unaligned. AC of 13, two hit points, calculated by rolling 1d4. And a walk speed of 30 feet and a burrow speed of 5ft. Now let’s take a look at its actual stats here.

  • STR: 2 (-4)
  • DEX: 16 (+3)
  • CON: 11 (+0)
  • INT: 3 (-4)
  • WIS: 12 (+1)
  • CHA: 6 (-2)
  • Skills: Perception +3, Stealth +5
  • Senses: Darkvision 60 ft., Passive Perception 13
  • Languages:
  • Challenge: 0 (10 XP)
  • Keen Hearing: The fox has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing.

You’ll notice his dexterity is a very impressive however he’s quite weak. But neither here nor there it’s just a little fox. Under skills you’ll see perception plus 3 and stealth plus five. So very stealthy fellow. Under senses you’ll see 60 feet of darkvision and a passive perception of 13. They also have access to keen hearing which loans them advantage on perception checks relying on hearing.

Very good stuff! Taking a look at these stats there’s nothing that i would consider game breaking. If anything i think this would make an excellent familiar choice and i would certainly allow that in my games so dms or even players if you’re reading it might be worth having that conversation and providing it as an option. It’s pretty cool! Now let’s move on to its actions here.

Actions

  • Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 1 piercing damage.

It only has one action and that is it’s bite attack. There’s a melee weapon attack that is plus five to hit. Reach of five feet, it can only target one creature and deals a single point of piercing damage. Now let’s get into that flavor text, so it is described as the following.

Description

The white arctic foxes of Icewind Dale live in burrows and are acclimated to cold weather. They prowl the outskirts of Ten-Towns and nearby forests for food, hunting hares or stealing fish. These timid creatures avoid contact with humanoids, but they are sometimes used as mounts by chwingas.

The chwingas are kind of these forest spirit things, they remind me of the forest spirits from a lot of the haiku miyazaki and studio ghibli movies which is really cool! i like them. But with that being said, they are considered an elemental and i’m not starting that series for a while now so keep checking i guess i don’t know but i did think it was kind of cool that these guys could be mounts. If you’re playing in a more japan or eastern asia themed campaign these guys would fit right in maybe as a spirit or something of that nature or maybe it’s something that a spirit communicates through. I think that’d be really interesting as well.

Conclusion

With all that being said though, let me know how you would use the fox down beneath in the comment section. Be sure to mention any thoughts, questions, comments, concerns of your own and if you have any cool stories involving them. That being said, i hope you all have a wonderful day and as always happy adventuring.
