Hello zoologists of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 46th episode of our beast series. This is also the first beast in the beast series that is of cr one quarter that’s right we’re moving up in the world slowly but surely. So it’s a little bit tougher at least hypothetically and not see 50 experience points as opposed to the 25 of the 1/8ths.
Today we are talking about where are axe beaks in d&d? which surprisingly to the best. An axe beak is a tall flightless bird with strong legs and a heavy wedge-shaped beak. It has a nasty disposition and tends to attack any unfamiliar creature that wanders too close. So they’re pretty dang aggressive but in terms of the description itself. Now let’s check out the axe beak 5e stats here.
Axe Beak DnD 5E Stat Block
- Type: Large beast, unaligned
- Armor Class: 11
- Hit Points: 19 (3d10 + 3)
- Speed: 50 ft.
So the axe beak is considered to be a large beast that is unaligned. That’s right, you can ride them all you medium creatures out there. It has an AC of 11 and a 19 hit points, calculated by rolling 3d10 and adding three and a speed of 50 feet, he’s lightning fast. Now let’s take a look at its actual stats.
DnD 5E Axe Beak Stats
- STR: 14 (+2)
- DEX: 12 (+1)
- CON: 12 (+1)
- INT: 2 (-4)
- WIS: 10 (+0)
- CHA: 5 (-3)
- Senses: Passive Perception 10
- Languages: —
- Challenge: 1/4 (50 XP)
You’ll notice a lot of positives +2 to strength, plus one to dexterity, +1 to con, intelligence -4, wisdom zero and charisma -3 that kind of most beasts so whatever. And only one sense that is a passive perception of 10. Now let’s quickly take a look at his actions.
Actions
Beak: Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 2) slashing damage.
The axe beak only has one action and that is a beak attack. It has a melee weapon attack, +4 to hit, range of five feet, one target and deal six slashing damage on hit or 1d8+2. I really do think these are best use mounts personally maybe for like grassland or plains raiders as it were they run around on axe beaks across maybe even kind of like the grassy plains of the kind of jolt maybe, i know jolts typically more jungly but that same time like africa ask kind of feel to it.
Anyways that’s how i would probably use them, maybe roving herds of them that kind of pillage small towns or villages and that would be another cool ways of using them. Do you know 5e when to give magic weapons.
