Hello potential dragonborns of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the ninth episode of our dragonborn subrace series where we take a look at all the dragonborn options break them down help you familiarize yourself with them and ultimately help you make an informed decision on your new character. Today we’re going to be taking a look at the Silver dragonborn one of the cool ones in all honesty.
However sadly one that i haven’t seen a whole lot of. That being said! It is found in the players handbook if you want to check it out right alongside all of its dragonborn can. With that intro out of the way let’s take a look at their unique mechanics.
Mechanics
- Resistance: Cold
- Breath Weapon: 15ft.cone(Con.save)
- Cold damage
- DC=8+Con Mod+pro
- 1st level: 2d6, 6th level:3d6, 11th level: 4d6, 16th level: 5d6.
They have a resistance to cold damage which is very cool depending on your campaign setting no pun intended. They all as their breath effect they can also spew forth a fifteen foot cone which requires a constitution save of to take half damage on and naturally it does cold damage.
That being said! in terms of the its DC and is calculated by 8 plus your constitution modifier plus your proficiency bonus. In terms of damage you deal 2d6 level one, 3d6 level six, 4d6 level 11th and 5d6 cold damage at level 16. Really cool stuff there. Once again no pun intended just saying it. Now let’s take a look at their features, personalities and otherfacts.
Features
In terms of features they have a cool mohawk frill that runs down the center of their head looks really nifty. They also have the access to the chinspikes. So incorporate those if you like.
Personalities
In terms of personalities they’re usually quite good and noble. They’re also honorbound very friendly and seek for unique experiences. They form very close friendships and their favorite treasure would be trigger or trinkets and mementos. Really great stuff! Tons of roleplay opportunity.
Otherfacts
In terms of otherfacts they really like high altitudes. Mating within the same clan is taboo. So you can potentially turned that into a plot hook and marriage for the silver dragons is incredibly serious. With that being said, let’s take a look at my personal thoughts on.
Thoughts
I think between their personality and their other facts there’s a ton of great opportunity for questlines, character development and all kinds of other things. For example a forbidden love between two members of the same clan. I think that’d be really interesting.
Outside of that i think they’d make great paladin’s fantastic paladin’s as a matter of fact. Same with clerics or even bards to some extent i could see all three of those playing and great with the silver dragonborn.
Conclusion
That being said! If you have any cool ideas regarding the silver dragonborn that you’d like to share please let me know down beneath in the comment section. I really appreciate reading them and i know everyone else really appreciates reading them as well. That being said guys! Thank you so much for checking out this article and i really do appreciate it. I hope you all have a wonderful day and as always happy casting.
