Your damage die will be a d8 so pretty good. At first level you get one and then you will get received an additional at 5th level and 17th level for a grand total of 4d8. The cast time is one action, the range is 15 feet, the duration is instantaneous, the saving throw is strength, the components are just a verbal which is very nice. The school is evocation and the damage type unsurprisingly is lightning. Now let’s take a quick look at the full description here. Also check out how do opportunity attacks work in 5e?.

Description

You create a lash of lightning energy that strikes at one creature of your choice that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pulled up to 10 feet in a straight line toward you and then take 1d8 lightning damage if it is within 5 feet of you. This spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).

Very cool spell, tons of flavor is both control and damage orientated so in tons of uses. A very cool thing is the warding up to it can be pulled up to ten feet. Meaning that you can specify from one up to 10 feet which is very important for later on. The creature must be visible though so make sure it’s in a well-lit area if you’re gonna do this. Alternatively it does not affect invisible creatures as a direct result. The being said, let’s take a look at some of the alternative uses the spell of watch there are a few. Do you know the exact answer for what is the lightning strike spell in 5e?

Lightning Lure 5E Uses

Firstly i would like to point out that you can actually use this on allies to force them out of melee combat without having them take attacks of opportunity through the enemy. Forest movement doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity and party members and allies in general can willingly and fail saving throws. So if you were a wizard and one of your squishier allies was or even a hurt ally who’s within melee range of a attacker and there wasn’t a good chance than getting away. is spell sniper any good?

You could cast lightning we were on them move them back five feet as opposed to the maximum of 10 so there’s still about 10 feet away from you. But they are still outside of combat zone are the melee striking distance rather. I would allow that and by raw it is very much possible, little bit on the other side of that you could use it to force enemies into traps or ground effects or passive effects or every want to look at it very useful way there. how do you get a lightning bolt in 5e?.

Thirdly you can actually use it as well slow down animation that you try to escape or run away or anything along those lines. So quite a versatile spell. Here is our guide on what is the thunder spell in d&d?
