Pony DnD 5E Monster

Hello zoologists of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 44th episode of our beast series. Today we have an interesting beast in store for us today. In the way that there’s not a whole lot to makes it interesting. We’re talking about the pony dnd 5e monster. Kind of a less exciting version of the mule i guess i don’t know it’s an interesting one.

So the pony for reasons we’ll get into in a little bit, it’s considered to be a 1/8 cr and it is found in the basic rules. Very cool stuff! I actually, i don’t know i have mixed feelings about this but let’s carry on.

Stats

  • Type: Medium beast, unaligned
  • Armor Class: 10
  • Hit Points: 11 (2d8 + 2)
  • Speed: 40 ft.

So the pony is consdiered to be a medium beast that is unaligned and that’s not too surprising. It has an AC of 10, 11 hit points calculated by rolling 2d8 and adding two and speed of 40 feet which is pretty average. Now taking a look at his actual stats here.

  • STR: 15 (+2)
  • DEX: 10 (+0)
  • CON: 13 (+1)
  • INT: 2 (-4)
  • WIS: 11 (+0)
  • CHA: 7 (-2)
  • Senses: Passive Perception 10
  • Languages:
  • Challenge: 1/8 (25 XP)

You’ll notice he’s pretty strong has decent con modifier, but that’s really about it. Under senses he has a passive perception of 10 which isn’t terrible. Taking a look at his actions.

Actions

Hooves: Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) bludgeoning damage.

He only has the one hooves attack. Melee weapon attack + 4 to hit, reach of five feet, one target, deals 7 bludgeoning damage on a hit calculated by rolling 2d4. Now if you can’t tell, i’m not super stoked about the pony, i think they could have done a lot more with it. Maybe hit it with the beasts of burden, seemed that they did with the mule there but i’m not, i don’t know may be at that point i would just be a mule, i don’t know it’s a hard one.

I would like to see how something special maybe better movement speed, maybe but criticism aside it does do a decent chunk of damage and 40 feet of movement speed is nothing to snuff at. I would also use this very similar to how i’d use the mule, does have this kind of a background beast.

This one would be able to go into the combat so i guess that’s the biggest difference between the two but outside of that i’d treat him identically you know have a move a smaller car, rickshaw around maybe or even a plow or other farm related tools.

Conclusion

That being said, let me know how you’d use the pony in your game down beneath in the comment section. Also be sure to mention any thoughts, questions, comments or concerns you have regarding the pony i really do appreciate it and i hope you guys all have a great day and as always happy researching everyone.
