Hello adventurers of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to the 2nd episode of our find steed series over here at my spellbook today we’re gonna be taking a look at the Pony option, i haven’t seen a lot of people pick this just gonna level with you. Pony’s cute, they’re cool, they’re a little bit smaller than the warhorse 5e i feel like the most common probably amongst the dwars, halflings, gnomes, the smaller kind of humanoids if that makes sense.
Feel free to reskin them as donkeys if you like i had a couple people bring that up in the comments on the find steed article so yeah you could do that. Without further ado though let’s take a look at their stats.
Pony D&D 5E Stats
- Pony: Medium beast, unaligned
- Armor Class: 10
- Hit Points: 11 (2d8 + 2)
- Speed: 40 ft.
- STR: 15 (+2)
- DEX: 10 (+0)
- CON: 13 (+1)
- INT: 2 (-4)
- WIS: 11 (+0)
- CHA: 7 (-2)
- Senses: Passive Perception 10
- Languages —
- Challenge: 1/8 (25 XP)
- Actions: Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) bludgeoning damage.
So opening right up with AC, AC of 10 pretty much as average as you can be. Hit points of 11 that’s determined by rolling 2d8 adding two, feel free to actually roll these most dms are okay with that but just run it past them. Speed of 40 feet so you’re a little bit further than what your average humanoid it, is which is nice. Taking a look at their actual stats here.
You have a strength score of 15, a modify of two. Dex of 10 modifier of zero, Con 13 modifier of plus one, intelligence of two modifier of minus four, if you’re using the find steed spell though this will get boosted to a six which will be a minus two, wisdom of 11 a modifier of zero, charisma seven modifier of minus two. Also check out how big is a wagon 5e?
Now looking at the sense passive perception of 10 which isn’t great. They can attack not if you’re controlling them but if you communicate with them telepathically and get them to it hank of of their own volition, they can make a hooves attack: It’s a plus four just a melee attack, one target deals seven bludgeoning damage if it hits. You can also check out camel 5e.
Not bad, not great. Now let me preface this by saying that the pony is not the animal of choice for min max ers. That being said, it is not without its merits. The pony has the great advantage of in addition to being a good height also being very inconspicuous, if you’re trying not to draw attention to yourself i’d probably push you towards the pony, it just works really well is just a regular kind of lower middle peasant class kind of animal and i think it’s good. Also read plate armor 5e.
Conclusion
That being said, it’s even more important because you can communicate with it via telepathy if you summon it using the pony d&d 5e spells i.e., find steed spell which i think is incredibly important.
That being said, if you have any other ideas, regrading this pony dnd 5e stats and regarding how to use it please let me know down in the comment section beneath. Also feel free to let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding it. That being said, i hope you all have a wonderful day and as always happy adventuring everyone.
