Camel DnD 5E Find Steed

Hello adventurers of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to the third edition of our find steed option series. Today we’re going to be taking a look at the camel d&d 5e. The camel is actually a little strange in terms of how wizards of the coast use it.

Because i feel like it stats don’t really match up to the real thing at all but that’s just my humble opinion and i think they did it in relation to how they price things out maybe, at least that’s what it looks like at a glance i’m not too sure, if you know please put it down beneath in the comment section because i really don’t. In any case let’s look at camel dnd 5e stats. Also check out camel dnd 5e price.

Starting out AC of 9 which is pretty poor! To be fair camels aren’t really particularly known for being super dexterous so maybe that has a lot to do with it. They do have a decent hit point pool of 15 those as calculated by rolling 2d10 adding four and taking the average. I would actually roll these if you can i just find it’s a little bit more entertaining. also read how big is a wagon 5e?

Your speed is gonna be 50 feet which is pretty good, it’s almost double what the average humanoid can actually move in 5e so i think it’s pretty good. Looking at their stats, just a couple things i want to point though. Strength of +3 really good, int of -4 not really good but if you’re using one of the camel dnd 5e spells i.e., find steed spell you do get a boost to that, check out our find steed article for clarification and charisma of -3 which i mean i guess i don’t know camels are kind of cute but they’re also kind of a little bit jerk so maybe that’s why. Also read camel 5e mount.

Passive perception of only 9 which i think is a little low but whatever and they can only do one attack and that is a bite and that is +5 to hit and deals 2 damage or 1d4 bludgeoning damage depending on how you want to look at it. That being said, you cannot use this while you’re in control the steed, you can however prompt it telepathically to do it, if you use the find steed spell. So just bear that in mind. also read warhorse 5e.

So something i do want to point out though in terms of practical application for the camel, i can make it pretty strong argument that they do have way more stamina than a lot of these are mounts to. So for a long treks i would make an argument that a camel would be better suited but ultimately that kind of depends on how you view it, how your dm interprets the stats and kind of how lenient they are with certain animals. Also read this mastiff 5e.

If you’re going by raw this is not the best choice but who knows thematically it might make sense in some way or another. In any case i hope you all have a wonderful day and as always happy adventuring everyone.
