This is super great for those warlocks that just love to have a ridiculously high degree of versatility to them and love to have an answer for almost every situation utility could possibly require.

This is the ultimate for those who wish to diversify their skillset. In any case with that hyped up intro out of the way let’s take a quick look at the description. Let me warn you in advance this is a wordy one.

Description

So first and foremost there is a prerequisite and that is you have to have picked the pact of the tome 5e feature. This is what gets you your book of shadows. As well as the couple cantrips and spells it’s pretty solid depending on your play style. The description written as followed.

You can now inscribe magical rituals in your Book of Shadows. Choose two 1st-level spells that have the ritual tag from any class’s spell list (the two needn’t be from the same list). The spells appear in the book and don’t count against the number of spells you know.

With your Book of Shadows in hand, you can cast the chosen spells as rituals. You can’t cast the spells except as rituals, unless you’ve learned them by some other means. You can also cast a warlock spell you know as a ritual if it has the ritual tag.

On your adventures, you can add other ritual spells to your Book of Shadows. When you find such a spell, you can add it to the book if the spell’s level is equal to or less than half your warlock level (rounded up) and if you can spare the time to transcribe the spell. For each level of the spell, the transcription process takes 2 hours and costs 50 gp for the rare inks needed to inscribe it.

Oh….wow….man a decent amount to unpack there. That  being said, let’s take a look at the overview.

Overview

What it really boils down to….As you gain two first level ritual spells 5e, and can now copy best rituals of any class into your book of shadows for the fee of 50 gold piece and two hours per level. The level of the spells are half your warlock level so level divided by two (rounded up), and only be casted as a ritual. Also read book of ancient secrets dnd 5e spells.

Okay really cool stuff! This is essentially the ritual caster feat but it applies to every spell list and that’s what makes it so gosh darn good when it comes to just pure utility, honestly this is incredible.

So step one pick: 2 ritual spells from any class to ritual cast. Yeah it’s a in terms of witch to work best, you know depends on what kind of a build you got going on. I probably grabbed find familiar because if you went with a pact of the tome you didn’t pack to the chains that’d probably a good one to start with and just for the sheer sake of utility, i probably grab ceremony as well.

I know there’s a ton of great ones out there but those are thw two that really strike me is two of them more useful ones, i mean our later levels you can grab like leomund’s tiny hut, magic mouth that kind of stuff!

But yeah that would be my choice at least. There’s so many options to pick from though but there’s no real bad answer. But those will be mine.

Conclusion

In any case what would yours be, feel free to put them down below as well as any comments, thoughts, questions you have about book of ancient secrets warlock as well as whether or not you’re picking it and why, i’d be really interested to hear that for all these.
