Hello magic casters of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 42nd episode of our cantrip series. May i introduce to you the eagle eye of true strike dnd 5e spells this cantrip is usable by the bard, sorcerer, warlock and the wizard and of course through extension anyone else with access to their spell lists found in the players handbook so everyone should have access to this spell. Let’s take a quick look at some mechanics here.
Mechanics
- Level: Cantrip
- Casting Time: 1 Action
- Range/Area: 30 ft
- Components: S
- Duration: 1 Round (Concentration)
- School: Divination
- Attack/Save: None
- Damage/Effect: Foreknowledge
The cast time is one action, the range is not really that great but still 30 feet, the duration is one round and this is a concentration spell. On your next turn you gain advantage on your first attack roll against the target.
The components are just somatic, so you just have to gesture with one hand and school is a divination. Now let’s take a quick look at the full description here just we are all aware of the flavor and wording of this spell So that everyone can know what is the point of true strike 5e. Also do you want to know why is true strike so bad and why does it exist.
Description
You point a finger at a target in range. Your magic grants you a brief insight into the target’s defenses. On your next turn, you gain advantage on your first attack roll against the target, provided that this spell hasn’t ended.
So is true strike good 5e! Very cool stuff! Very neat, circumstantially very powerful. I do think in the fact that as an action definitely hurts that is a good choice. And the fact that this concentration certainly doesn’t help it out either. But let’s take a quick look at some alternative uses. So we’re all aware that i can have use.
Alternative Uses
The best alternative dnd 5e true strike use i could think of was to take advantage of the fact that it doesn’t have to be seeing it on a creature. It can be an object and it’s especially effective when that object doesn’t either or is incredibly important such as an archery match between you and rival for example or even a item that needs to be destroyed. So is true strike a good spell? This is a very good spell circumstantially and in the right kind of campaign i could see this actually being quite useful.
In any case do you cast true strike on friend or foe? Of course you can only use true strike on enemies but not on the allies until you would like to take advantage on your next attack upon an ally.
Conclusion
That being said, if you have any alternative uses or any cool stories involving true strike i would really like to hear them down in the comments and as would everyone else reading in to. That being said, i hope you all have a great day and as always happy casting. mage hand 5e | blade ward 5e | dnd true strike fix | can you cast true strike as a bonus action? |
