Protection of The Talisman 5E Invocation

Hello warlocks! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 52nd episode of our eldritch invocations series. Today we’re going to be going over another eldritch invocation straight out of tasha’s cauldron of everything and this is also based around the newly added pact of the talisman which is always going to be interesting to talk about.

On a side note i haven’t gotten a chance to play one of these yet! So i don’t know how they’re playing but everything that i’ve seen so far indicates that they’re a pretty strong choice for the support warlocks out there. In any case if you would like to check out all of the eldritch invocations in their entirety please do check out our full category by choosing the link. In any case let’s now dive into the description and prerequisites for the protection of the talisman 5e build.

Description

The prerequisites for this particular invocation are going to be you have to be at least a 7th level warlock and you have to have choosen the pact of the talisman feature. Now let’s look at its full description here.

When the wearer of your talisman fails a saving throw, they can add a d4 to the roll, potentially turning the save into a success. This benefit can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and all expended uses are restored when you finish a long rest.

This kind of follows a theme with the pact of the talisman another very similar example of this is just the feature itself. When you decide to make the pact of the talisman, you add a d4 to your checks if you fail them. So and it operates exactly the same way, number of uses is equal to your proficiency bonus all expanded uses are restored when you finish a long rest.

The only real difference is this particular feature applies to saves as well. Which is really nice, you might very well save your own neck or whoever you decide to give this  to which is another really powerful thing, the fact that you can essentially gift away one of your main class features is rather interesting. Now let’s take a moment and just do a quick overview here. Check out these protection of the talisman 5e spells.

Overview

This is a really simple invocation which is really nice. Essentially if you fail a save you can add a d4 to the roll and hopefully you’ll succeed on that which is depending on the save i suppose rather likely. That being said, i think the biggest benefit of this particular invocation at least as far as the wording is concerned is your know whether or not you fail before you decide to use this use.

That goes a long way in terms of resource management which is always a good thing and in that regard i think it’s really nice. Now let’s move on to my personal thoughts on it. Don’t miss this what is strength of the talisman 5e?.

Thoughts

I really do like this particular and i’m a relatively big fan of the pact of the talisman as a whole despite not really playing it. However relative to a lot of other seventh level invocations i don’t know if this stacks up quite well in reference to them. Do you know the answer to can a warlock get polymorph?.

However the fact that it scales at least using your proficiency bonus make it a really strong choice overall even despite that and in terms of just being a strictly support character, this is arguably one of the best ways you can be a support. I suppose there are things like bless out there but this is a little bit more reliable and doesn’t take up your concentration.

Conclusion

That being said, let me know what you think of protection of the talisman down beneath in the comment section. Be sure to mention any thoughts, questions, comments or concerns you have regarding it. That being said, i hope you all have a great day and as always happy adventuring.
