Quipper DnD 5E Monster

Hello zoologists of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for checking out the 23rd episode of our beast series. We got a very cool one in store for us today as so far as to say it is the second kind of aquatic based CR0 beast we’ve covered so far. The first being the octopus 5e of course, i don’t think these guys would get along too well but who knows in your world they might.

Today we’re gonna be taking a look at the quipper dnd 5e beast. This basically piranha is found in just the basic rule set. It’s actually a familiar option as well so it’s found in the players handbook if you want to check it out there you certainly can. It’s considered to be cr0 that is so far as to say it’s very easy to defeat them. At least when they’re alone and they provide ten experience points should you kill one.

That being said, let’s take a quick look at its mechanics here and just break them down a little bit further.

Quipper DnD 5E Stat Block

  • Type: Tiny beast, unaligned
  • Armor Class: 13
  • Hit Points: 1 (1d4 – 1)
  • Speed: 0 ft., swim 40 ft.

So how big is a quipper? it is considered to be a tiny beast and it is unaligned like most beasts out there. Now taking a look at its actual stats. You’ll notice an AC of 13 which is a little bit higher than usual which is nice. Hit point of one which is calculated by rolling a d4 and then subtracting one. And a zero movement speed but 40 feet swim speed. So needless to say, you can’t move on land, it doesn’t have any appendages to do so. Now let’s take a look at its stats real quick. You can also read fish quipper dnd 5e.

Quipper DnD 5E Stats

  • STR: 2 (-4)
  • DEX: 16 (+3)
  • CON: 9 (-1)
  • INT: 1 (-5)
  • WIS: 7 (-2)
  • CHA: 2 (-4)
  • Senses: Darkvision 60 ft., Passive Perception 8
  • Languages:
  • Challenge: 0 (10 XP)

You’ll notice he’s incredibly a dexterous however he’s a very weak, incredibly dumb and in no wheel shape or form charismatic. Now looking at his senses you’ll see 60 feet of darkvision which is great and a passive perception of 8 which is leaves a lot to be desired.

  • Blood Frenzy: The quipper has advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature that doesn’t have all its hit points.
  • Water Breathing: The quipper can breathe only underwater.

He also comes equipped with the blood frenzy ability which grant some advantage on melee attack roles against any creature that doesn’t have all of its hit points. Which is a very handy skill to have. And it also comes equipped with water breathing naturally can only breathe underwater, the swim speed was kind of a giveaway to this one but whatever still got a rapport on it. Now let’s take a quick look at his actions here. Don’t miss this goldfish dnd 5e.

Actions

Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage.

The quipper only has one action, as do the vast majority of beasts as cr0 and it’s a bite attack. So it’s considered to be a melee weapon attack +5 to hit which is great. Reach of five feet which makes sense because melee, it can only target one target and deals one piercing damage on a hit. Also check out this what is a swarm of quippers?.

Very good stuff! Traditionally quippers live in lakes and shallow water very similar to that so lakes, ponds, maybe streams things of that nature and they’re basically piranhas so assume there’s gonna be a large amount of them nearby, outside of that a adventuring party might be able to catch them in a stream, they can be quite deadly in large numbers so feel free to use that however you want.

I think they can be used to much the same effect as the octopus can and the way that it is a gret creature in terms of getting players used to underwater combat. So it’s pretty good! Also check out these quipper dnd 5e spells.
